How Sacred Passage Doulas serve their clients during the transition process.

As a sacred passage doula, I serve my clients as a spiritual guide and ally as they transition from this physical plane to the eternal realm. By remembering and honoring the sacredness of the transition process, I hold my clients hands and allow them to experience the beauty of the process while also holding space for fear, grief and pain to be expressed. I empower and guide clients and their family to make informed decisions, honor traditions and spiritual beliefs, and together cultivate a blueprint unique to their soul truth.

A doula serves the full spectrum of each client mind, body, emotions and spirit. Holding space for families to clear ancestral pain and clear karmic imprints from their bloodline is one of the greatest gifts I can give to my clients during this time. As each client and family is unique, my role as a doula is adapted to the needs and requirements of each family served.

End of life doulas are non-medical care providers but can offer physical support and comfort measures such as therapeutic touch, light massage, anointing with sacred oils, positioning and bathing their clients. A doula offers a healing presence and a safe and supportive environment for families to explore their beliefs, values and traditions and assists families with cultivating a process that honors and upholds all that is sacred to them.

Doulas serve as a bridge between other caregivers and team members and can make referrals as needed. Doulas can also assist clients with basic needs such as errands, meals preparation, light laundry and housekeeping. Ritual and ceremony is another way many doulas cultivate sacred experiences for their clients. Doulas visit their clients regularly during the end of life and may remain 24/7 with clients during the sacred passage vigil.
